Tansi and welcome to Chief Taylor School. It is with great eagerness and anticipation that we start the school year. The awe-inspiring Cree Culture never stops to amaze, which has led us to focus on developing the child as a whole being, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. We look forward to this new school year full of hope each and every child will be successful and be productive members of Onion Lake.
Children benefit greatly when parents/guardians take an active role in their child’s education. It has been proven that when students have parental support at home, 10 minutes 20 minutes or 30 minutes, they enjoy their learning and want to be at school. Students’ attitude and perception of school improves as they develop more self-confidence in their road to becoming life-long learners and solid contributors to our community.
Our focus will continue to be the School Goals: Culture, Math, Literacy, Inclusion and Retention. To enable us to meet these goals, we need students to be in attendance and prepared for academic challenge. Regular attendance at school is beneficial to the students by increasing their academic success and promoting their self-esteem. We look forward to meeting you all.
Respectfully,
Mr. Darryl Whitstone
