Upcoming Program
The Oregon Reference Summit invites you to join us Wednesday, August 6th from 12-1:30PM Pacific Time for a presentation entitled “Welcoming Communities: Immigration Resources and Legal Advocacy in Oregon Libraries.”
Welcoming Communities: Immigration Resources and Legal Advocacy in Oregon Libraries
This presentation will provide a judgement free space to allow for learning about basic immigration terminology, updates under the current administration, Oregon sanctuary laws, Know Your Rights information, and resources on immigration for Oregon libraries. During the first hour immigration lawyers John A. Almaguer and John R. Almaguer will give their presentation and the last 30 minutes will be for Q&A. The session will be recorded.
Thank you to REFORMA Oregon for organizing this presentation for the 2025 Oregon Library Association conference last April! The Oregon Reference Summit is presenting this live, virtual version for those who were not able to attend the in-person session and those who would like updated information about changes to immigration policies and practices since the spring.
Sponsored by Answerland; the Oregon Library Association’s Reference and Legal Reference Roundtables; and the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the State Library of Oregon.
