Second Grade Friends

Dear Families,

Lent invites us to turn our minds and hearts back to the God of mercy. As we begin this season, may we find renewed encouragement to open our hearts, respond to God’s grace, and lead others to do the same.

In Religion, we are discussing Lent, Holy Week, and the events leading to Jesus’ death and resurrection. We are also learning about the Mass and its important parts. I encourage you to help your child respond and participate when attending Mass with you.

In Math, we started Chapter 6 on Geometry. It is a fast-paced chapter and we will test it soon.  We will then move on to time, money, measurement, and the addition and subtraction of three-digit numbers. We are such math stars in 2B!

In Reading, we are reading and discussing biographies. A Timeline Project will be sent home this month, so please be on the lookout for it.

We will soon begin Terra Nova testing. It is very important that students are on time and present at school each day. Please be sure your child eats a healthy breakfast and brings plenty of sharpened #2 pencils. Thank you for your continued support in helping them do their very best.

Pencil Cases

Some of us are running low on glue and supplies. Please take some time to check your student’s pencil case.  I would greatly appreciate it.
