Frequently Asked Questions

Can I look up a volunteer's application status? How?

Yes! Check out the Slide Presentation above for a quick overview on how. If a volunteer has been denied, we do not tell them why. You can direct them to our Board Policy for more information.

What to do if an applicant has been denied?

If an applicant has been denied, we do not tell them why. You can direct them to our Board Policy and they can request their background check results from our background check provider, JD Palatine. If they have any issues with their Background Check, have them email clientservices@jdp.com

Applicants do have the right to appeal a denial decision, information on that process can be found in our Board Policy

What to do if an applicant wants to see their background check results?

They can request their background check results from our background check provider, JD Palatine. If they have any issues with their Background Check, have them email clientservices@jdp.com. They'll be prompted to put in the last 4 digits of their Social Security Number & their zip code.

Yes, applications need to be resubmitted so we can run background checks on each applicant annually. Volunteer status is deactivated on June 30th each year and reapply to volunteer is encouraged on July 1st.

Can I help people fill out the application?

Yes, but please make sure they are utilizing their own emails so they can receive their approval/denial notice.

Is the application only available in English??

No, there are two versions of our application currently available: English & Spanish

For alternative language needs please visit our Translation Services Page
