YOU (the student) must lead the EE process. The work must be your own, from the choice of topic to the final argument and reflective statement.
As a student, I will:
Meet all deadlines - Follow the EE timeline set by my school, including drafting, reflection sessions and final submission.
Conduct independent research and original writing. Take full respsonbility for designing, planning and completing my investigagtion.
Choose an appropriate and manageable research question. Select a question that fits the subject or pathway requirements and can be answered within four thousand words. This question must be arguable/analyticaly and defensible through research.
Maintain academic integrity. I will: cite and reference all sources correctly, acknowledge any external expert assistance using the required IB form, submit only work that is entirely my own, and ensure my work follows ethical and academic standards.
Complete the required reflection process. Attend all three formal reflective sessions. Write one reflective statement of up to 500 words on the RPF and submit it with my final essay.
Use the Researcher's Reflection Space (RRS). Use the RRS to plan, record ideas, track research and reflect on my process. I understand that the RRS is private, and not assessed or monitored.
Communicate with my Supervisor and Coordinator. Maintain regular, professional communication, update my supervisor on progress and challenges, and use feedback appropriately.
Respond to feedback. Use my supervisor's comments to revise and improve the clarity and structure of my work. I understand that I will receive feedback on only one full draft.
Follow IB and school ethical guidelines. Ensure my research respects legal, ethical and safety requirements related to health and safety, confidentiality, human rights, animal welfare, and environmental impact.
Submit all required work through Canvas and IBIS.
