What to do if you suspect your child may need to be referred for a special education evaluation?
OISD engages in the child find process continuously throughout the OISD school year. Child find events are typically scheduled 1-2 times a year.
The purpose of the document, to your left, is to describe the special education referral and initial evaluation process based on guidance from the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) and the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).
This process is inclusive of OISD school-based, private school, pre school, and parent requests, including outside evaluation documentation.
