About Us
The Open Hand Learning Center, located in Central South Dakota, opened in August 2020 and serves children in the Kimball, South Dakota region. This region includes the Kimball, White Lake, Pukwana, Chamberlain, Oacoma, and Platte communities.
The Center is typically open Monday - Tuesday - Wednesday late afternoons during the school year, and Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday mornings/early afternoon during the summer. Other times are by appointment.
At the Open Hand Learning Center, Dr. Soozi Weisflock offers tutoring and instruction to children in Reading, Written Expression, and Mathematics; readiness for young children - ABC's, 123's & Concept Development, and social/emotional mindfulness topics. She also plans arts/crafts activities, and is a folk singer. Dr. Soozi holds South Dakota teaching certification for elementary education, k-12 special education, school counseling, and school psychology. She also contracts on a limited basis with tribal schools within South Dakota to provide school psychology assessment services.
