OVMA MEMBER BENEFITS
OVMA MEMBER BENEFITS
Everyone occasionally experiences problems. Locating the right assistance can be as confusing or overwhelming as the problem itself. An employee assistance program (EAP) provides counseling and other resources that quickly and professionally assist you, your staff, and their family members in handling problems affecting your wellbeing.
Wellbeing is more than physical health. Mental, financial, and emotional health also play a huge part in your overall wellbeing. That's why OVMA has partnered with CuraLinc (formerly CorpCare) to provide its members, their staff, and their dependents access to a new confidential service called SupportLinc.
SupportLinc offers a wide variety of resources, from confidential counseling to customized wellbeing tools to work-life balance resources—all for one low annual fee!

Are there any other fees besides the annual costs listed above?
The EAP is a pre-paid benefit, which means there is no co-pay or other related expense when using the services.
Do we need to include a list of employees and dependents when signing up?
Upon enrollment, hospitals will be checked to confirm eligibility (i.e, OVMA membership). However, the program works on an assumed eligibility model, which means it doesn’t require a list of employees or their qualified dependents.
How do I enroll? What happens after I sign up?
To sign up, OVMA members can click here and enter the access information found in the Members Only Center (Membership tab » Discounts & Benefits).
If your practice has multiple locations, each location must be enrolled and paid for separately. However, satellite clinics that have the same employees count as one hospital.
Within 24 business hours, CuraLinc will email you to confirm your account has been set up, and employees can begin using services. You will also receive digital promotional materials to share with your team.
Please note, the benefits year is not based on your join date; rather, it runs from June 1 to May 31. Whether you sign up in June or January, your benefits will last through the end of May.
How do the 3 or 5 counseling sessions work? Can I choose my own therapist?
CuraLinc has its own affiliate network which it credentials and manages. In order to qualify for the EAP, users must meet with one of these counseling professionals, which include licensed professional counselors, social workers, marriage and family therapists, and psychologists.
Contact CuraLinc 24/7/365 by phone, email, text message, or via the online portal to get connected with a counselor. (This initial consult does not count as a session.)
Counseling sessions may be in person or virtual.
Each employee and qualified dependent has access to up to three or five (depending on the plan chosen by the practice) counseling sessions per year.
The work/life options of legal and financial referrals and child/elder care services do not count toward those visits.
Counseling sessions are designed for shorter-term problems that can be managed within a few sessions, such as stress, anxiety, relationship problems, grief, etc. Therefore, longer-term treatment (such as severe mental illness, ongoing chronic substance use disorders, psychological testing, or medication management) should go through your health insurance.
What happens if the counselor I'm paired with isn’t a good fit?
Part of what EAP does is “assess and refer.” As the counselor does an assessment in the first 1-2 sessions, if they determine they are not best suited for what the employee needs (particular treatment, etc), they will make appropriate referrals. In doing so, the counselor will take into consideration financial concerns (insurance networks, sliding scale, community resources, etc.). If the employee does not like the counselor, they can call back to be re-matched for their remaining sessions.
What if I want to continue counseling after I've used all my allotted sessions?
Many concerns will be resolved within the EAP sessions without need for further referral. Every effort is made to avoid “starting over,” so if the employee chooses to continue with therapy, they may continue with that counselor if the counselor is in network with the insurance plan. We also ask about insurance during the initial intake and make every attempt to try and match callers with someone who takes their insurance. The employee may also choose to self-pay.
You can also use CuraLinc's online resources—including TextCoach, Animo, and Mindstream—as many times and as often as needed!
Will my hospital be provided with reports of which employees are using the EAP?
CuraLinc works diligently to protect HIPAA and patient privacy, following all federal and state confidentiality laws and guidelines. Any data shared will be aggregate and will NOT include any identifying information. What information can be shared depends on the size of your hospital, to ensure employees aren't identified using the "process of elimination" for smaller practices.
