Hardware and Software

Hardware in the library/media center consists of:

Barcode scanners are also required. Administrative computers are used by library/media staff for cataloging, circulation, reports, inventory, and other administrative purposes while OPAC computers are used by students and teachers.


For administrative (library staff) workstations, Connect supports Windows installations of Sirsi Workflows; however, Macintosh installations are also available.

Printer requirements: The administrative printer must be a laser (not inkjet) printer and can be connected directly to the PC or a part of the local building/district network.

Port Information

In order to utilize INFOhio library automation software and access websites, please ensure that the following ports are open through any firewall. Inbound access can be limited to IP addresses as specified in the documentation entitled Ports Table.

Scanners need to be properly configured to read Code 39 mod 10 with 1 check-digit (barcode symbology).
