Hardware and Software
Hardware in the library/media center consists of:
administrative and online catalog (OPAC) computers and
administrative and OPAC printers.
Barcode scanners are also required. Administrative computers are used by library/media staff for cataloging, circulation, reports, inventory, and other administrative purposes while OPAC computers are used by students and teachers.
For administrative (library staff) workstations, Connect supports Windows installations of Sirsi Workflows; however, Macintosh installations are also available.

Printer requirements: The administrative printer must be a laser (not inkjet) printer and can be connected directly to the PC or a part of the local building/district network.

In order to utilize INFOhio library automation software and access websites, please ensure that the following ports are open through any firewall. Inbound access can be limited to IP addresses as specified in the documentation entitled Ports Table.

Barcode Labels

Barcode labels display the school or library name above the barcode, the barcode (code 39 mod 10 with 1 check-digit), and the number below the barcode. As of July, 2022, cost per 1,000 labels on a roll is $41.00 (RAT004S1-R) ; minimum order is 3,000 labels. Cost for 1,000 laminated labels on a sheet is $41.00 (RAM004W1-S ) ; minimum order is 3,000 labels.

You can also print your own dumb barcode labels using the LBL: Dumb Labels report on the INFOhio tab of the WorkFlows reports module. Labels must be 3 across 10 down, 1" high x 2 5/8" wide. See the document entitled Instructions for Generating Dumb Labels Report for steps on how to generate labels.
Connect can purchase dumb barcodes labels on your behalf through OHIONet. As of October 2021, cost per 1,000 labels is $26.68 with a minimum order of 3,000 labels. Shipping costs depend on the quantity ordered and usually run from $12.00 to $25.00. Contact Connect to place your order.
Spine Labels
Labels must be 8 across, 7 down on the page, 1 1/2" high x 1" wide.
