Mrs. Phillips graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 2012. She earned a Master of Arts in Special Education from Northwest Missouri State University in December of 2024. Mrs. Phillips is a 2008 graduate of Park Hill High School.
Following graduation from UCM, Mrs. Phillips married her amazing husband, Mr. Phillips. Mrs. Phillips taught 7th-12th string orchestra in Sikeston, MO for the 2012-2013 school year. During summer of 2013, the couple moved to Oak Grove so Mr. Phillips could join the OGHS Social Studies department. That fall, their family grew to include their son, Henry.
Mrs. Phillips was inspired to change to a Special Education focus partly due to the direct influence of her late Uncle David, who had many special needs but led an inspiring life. Mrs. Phillips joined the OGHS Special Education department as a paraprofessional in 2021. She began her time as teacher in the Life Skills room in 2025.
Her other school duties include case management for IEPs, being part of the MTSS (Multi Tiered System of Support) committee, assisting at the gates for sporting entries, and coaching Special Olympics bowling and basketball.
In her spare time, she enjoys playing violin in the Heritage Philharmonic community orchestra which she first began performing with in 2010. She loves watching Henry in whatever endeavors he is involved with, playing board games, and going on bike rides.
