The Ogden School District Digital Teaching & Learning Team wants to help you become a Google Certified Educator. In that endeavor, we have developed the Google Certification Online Track program to help you through Google's training modules and give you credit for your efforts.

Level 1
Level 1
The Level 1 certification follows the Fundamentals Training which consists of 13 units broken into three modules: Professional Growth, Increasing Efficiency, and Student Learning.

The Level 2 certification follows the Advanced Training which consists of 11 units broken into three advanced modules: Professional Growth, Increasing Efficiency, and Student Learning.

If you are already a Level 2 educator, the trainer certification follows the Trainer Course which consists of 7 units broken into two modules: Create and Deliver Inspiring and Effective Training Plans and Help Educators Use Transformative Google Technologies. (Space limited. Applications due by October 2, 2020.)

Each unit connects several related skills and discusses their importance in a technology-rich, 21st century classroom. The training includes built-in notes, quick-checks for understanding, interactive mini-tasks, and advice from fellow educators. On their own, these Google training lessons are powerful in the hands of a motivated educator focused on advocating for their students.

For Level 1 and Level 2 we have looked at the Google training units and focused on the three main modules: Professional Growth, Time Savings, and Student Learning. After each module, you will also complete an interactive, culminating assignment. This will tie together your new learning and relate it back to our goals as a school district. This assignment can be done online independently or face-to-face in a small group of like-minded peers. We also provide guided notes for the online learning and offer tips and tricks throughout the process.
For Level 1 and Level 2 we have looked at the Google training units and focused on the three main modules: Professional Growth, Time Savings, and Student Learning. If you are pursuing the Trainer certification, we will work with you in a one-on-one mentor relationship to coach you through the process. Participants will apply for the trainer track in the Fall and work throughout the year toward their certification. Our next application window for the Trainer track will be in Fall of 2020.

The Digital Teaching and Learning grant will also allow us to offer stipends for both Level 1 and Level 2 certifications. There is a limited number of stipends available each school year so be sure to sign-up as soon as possible during the application window. The Level 1 stipend will be $250 and the Level 2 stipend will be $500.

You can sign up for the Google Certification Online Track at any time. Please click the button below to apply. If now is not the right time for you, we will offer this opportunity every year and in boot camp form each summer.

If you choose to complete the Level 1 or Level 2 track, you will have the entirety of the school year to complete the unit learning through the Google Skillshop, the online culminating activities, and the certification exam. If you choose to complete the Trainer track, we will reach out with more details.
