Today we will go over the three elements that are required to be included with your history day project. No matter what category you choose, your group will need to include: an annotated bibliography, a thesis, and a process paper. Today we will make sure you understand each of these elements and show you some examples.
Task: You will have the next week to work on these required elements and finish up your projects!
You already have your sources in Scrible, let's show you how to annotate them!
This is not required for 4th or 5th grade.
A strong History Day thesis:
-Clearly identifies what your topic is
-Sets your topic in time and place
-Briefly summarizes your historical argument
-Explains the 'change over time' that your topic impacted
-Makes at least one meaningful theme connection
Your process paper must answer the following questions:
1. How did you choose your topic and how does it relate to the annual theme?
2. How did you conduct your research?
3. How did you create your project?
4. What is your historical argument? (thesis statement)
5. In what ways is your topic significant in history?
