Hello! My name is Mrs. Rademaker and I am happy to be the school counselor here at Oak Grove! I want to tell you a bit about myself. I have been a school counselor for 20 years and have my Master’s degree in both Social Work and School Counseling. Before working in the school system, I worked in the hospital as a hospital social worker.
Some examples of why a student might come and talk to me include academic concerns, friendships/relationships, anxiety/depression symptoms, and/or bully issues to name a few. Sometimes parents/guardians call, email or dojo me about a concern going on with their student, and I always welcome any communication from them that can help me support their students.
I will be available during parent-teacher conferences each year and would be happy to set up appointment times with you then, and I can also meet throughout the year if you feel I can help in any way.
