I am so excited to get to work with you and your student this year and to help them to grow as readers, writers, and learners. I can honestly say that I love my job, it is one that I take seriously. I want to do everything I can help your student have a positive year and to learn a lot in the short time we have together.
If you would like to learn more about my rules and expectations, please click here to see the packet I sent home at the beginning of the year.
I grew up in Marquette Heights and graduated from Pekin Community High School. I was very fortunate to have incredible teachers who helped me to realize early on that I wanted to follow in their footsteps. After high school, I earned my bachelor's degree from Bradley and my master's degree from ISU, where I am currently working on my doctorate. I started teaching in 2006, and I love what I do as much (or more) than I did when I started.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, husband, friends, and my two spoiled pups. I also enjoying reading, crafting, cooking, playing board games, traveling (especially to Disney World) when I can, and skiing.
