Teacher Thoughts:

Welcome to the 2025/26 school year!

We are thrilled to welcome your child to 3rd Grade (the BEST grade in the entire school)!

This year, your child will have the opportunity to learn many new math skills using Bridge in Mathematics curriculum. Bridges is a visual and hands on program designed to help students develop a deep number sense and grow their learning through real-world application of skills and collaboration.

We are excited for your child to experience Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) and develop a rich appreciation for quality literature. Project Lead The Way Science will return with activities designed to instruct the engineering and design process, as well as the scientific inquiry process. Look for more information on our projects this Fall!

Watch the Orange Folder for school communications; including our weekly signature sheet. We ask that students read for 20 minutes every night and practice their multiplication facts once they've been introduced.

This is my 4th year of teaching here are OFE and I am beyond excited to create memories with your student while making learning fun!

As a teacher, it’s my job to foster creativity. In order to do that, it’s important for me to embrace their mistakes, create a learning environment that allows them to feel comfortable enough to take chances, and try new methods. I want my students to know that they are valued members of our classroom community, and I want to teach each of them what they need to continue to grow in my classroom.

In my free time, I enjoy playing board games, hanging out with friends and family, and of course, entertaining my golden retriever -Oakley!

This is my 11th year of teaching (10 here at OFE) and can assure you that 3rd grade is a blast!

Collaboration and creativity are huge in my classroom. My philosophy in education is "grace before grades". I truly enjoy building strong, trusting relationships with students first. Once that is built, I feel that's when true learning flourishes.

When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy creating jewelry, reading mystery thrillers, thrifting + spending time with family and friends.

This is my 7th year of teaching here at OFE and I'm so excited for this year's adventures!

My goal is to always find the fun in learning. I love finding new and creative ways for students to showcase their knowledge. I love getting to build new relationships each year with my students and helping them to grow their interests and find new ones.

If I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy reading, trying out something new, spending time with family and friends, and taking my dog for walks!

This is my very first year of teaching, and I’m so excited to be joining the amazing OFE community! I graduated from Winona State University this past May and have been eager to have a classroom full of curious, creative, and kind learners.

I love to keep the learning fun and help each student feel confident and excited to try new things. I believe every student can succeed, and I’m looking forward to building strong, meaningful relationships in order to help them grow this year!

When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy watching sporting events, going on walks, and spending time with my friends and family. I can’t wait for all the learning, laughter, and memories we’ll have together in 3rd grade!
