My Role
As your school counselor, my goal is to support the academic success of all students. School counselors work collaboratively with ALL students, parents, teachers, administrators, and the local community agencies to help students with their academic success.
At Orchard Farm Middle School, I provide individual check-ins, small group counseling, behavioral student support, and classroom lessons in the areas of communication skills, coping skills, conflict management, and career exploration. My goal is to ensure that all of our students are set up for success in regards to their academics and mental health well-being.

What do School Counselors Do?
School counselors work on three domains with students: Academic, Career, and Social/Personal. Within these three domains, a comprehensive school counseling program and curriculum are developed. The School Counselor's role is to support the academic development of students; this can include identifying social and emotional issues that might impede a child's academic success. However, school counselors are not therapists and do no provide ongoing therapy as that is outside of their ethical scope of practice. If ongoing therapy could be beneficial to the child, school counselors can connect the family and child to a variety of available outside agencies that can provide more intensive services.
Student Referrals
If students would like to meet with me, they may ask the front office secretaries, a teacher, or any staff member throughout the day to come to the office to see me.
If teachers are concerned about a student, they can e-mail at any time to refer a student.
If a parent or guardian has concerns and would like to meet regarding their child, they may call or e-mail at any time, or call to set up a meeting/ appointment at the school.
