We’re excited to share that fundraising for a new, fully accessible and inclusive playground at Laurie Hawkins Public School continues to move forward!
Thanks to the incredible generosity of local businesses, families, and community members, our Playground Committee raised more than $5,000 in additional donations over the summer, bringing us another step closer to our $125,000 fundraising goal.
We are incredibly grateful to Tiny’s Ltd. and Kaufman Agri Service for their generous support of our playground project, as well as every individual, family, and business that has donated, shared our campaign, or helped us make connections within the community. Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to creating a playground where all children can play, explore, and belong.
Our committee has also been busy gathering updated playground proposals and continuing to explore funding opportunities. With a project budget of $125,000, we still have a long way to go, but we are excited about the progress we’ve made and the momentum that continues to build.
Fundraising will continue throughout the 2026–2027 school year, with several fundraising initiatives, grant applications, and community partnerships in the works.
Thank you to everyone who has helped us get this far. Together, we’re building more than a playground. We’re creating a space where every child has the opportunity to play.
