Course Overview
Our eight ESG courses are crafted to support diverse career paths and professional skill sets.
We will study economic theory of sustainability and look at future policy development.
Environmental Management
Environmental issues in the SDGs will be reviewed, taking into account the situation in ASEAN countries. Next, the course will focus on disaster management. Next, participants will learn about environmental management tools called “Future Chart” and “Decarbonizing the Future Workshop” with case studies. Next, the international standard ISO 14001 for environmental management systems will be reviewed from various angles, with a focus on the case study of Chiba University's efforts.
Business
Developing Economies
This course addresses economic development, traditionally referred to as development economics. In particular, the course focuses on case studies of the challenges of transforming a country and its companies to a more developed situation, with ESG as the basis and also including developed countries.
International Economics
Intensive study of the link between ESG and international economic activity, with an emphasis on case studies is pursued.
Design
Innovation Design
Design is a “practice and science that enriches people’s lives.” This course provides an overview of Innovation Design in today’s context from the perspective of design practice. The term “design practice” encompasses a variety of ideas and methodologies. In this course, students will start with “What is design?” and be introduced to diverse ideas and methods of Innovation Design along with concrete examples.
Design Science
Design is a “practice and science that enriches people’s lives.” This course provides an overview of what design is today, focusing primarily on the perspective of “Design Science.” Design Science is a field of study that “designs using accumulated knowledge and technology.” This course explores the entirety of today’s Design Science by incorporating various academic fields that have been integrated into design, such as materials science, ergonomics, and psychology, etc.
Nursing
Community Health Care
Students will learn how to identify issues related to community health care, examine the relevant factors, and implement solutions to these issues.
Living Health
Learn about health science, including identifying issues related to living a healthy life, examining the factors involved, and finding solutions to these issues.
