Important LA Note!!: All students are required to have an independent reading book at all times. The subject matter at OFMS is sometimes different from OFIS. It is important for parents to talk to their child about the books he or she is reading. Most, but not all, will contain the YA symbol for "Young Adult". This is just one way to identify books containing a more mature subject matter. Teachers and librarians are not able to oversee chosen reading material.

Welcome to 6th grade Language Arts with Mrs. Gillespie!

I have been teaching in the Olmsted Falls School District for 25 years. (And before that, I attended Olmsted Falls Schools myself!) I graduated from the University of Toledo with my Bachelor's Degree and from Cleveland State with my Master's Degree in School Counseling. I enjoy spending time with my husband, four children, and our many pets. I made a slide presentation so you can see my family and our animals if you'd like. Please click: "Getting to Know Mrs. Gillespie" slide presentation (Make sure to click "present" in the upper right of presentation.)

While you're in 6th grade, I hope to instill/grow a love for reading and writing. I encourage you to contact me at any point throughout the year to share insight, ask questions and voice concerns.

I look forward to getting to know each of you this year. We are all unique and that's what makes life (and our classroom) interesting and enjoyable!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Gillespie
