Husky Broadcasting Company or Husky Broadcasting is an extra-curricular activity featured by the Oelwein Community School District to 1) help prepare students to be college and/or career ready to work in entry level broadcasting, marketing or related fields and 2) allow the District to communicate to the community what is happening with their public school system.

The COVID-19 Pandemic was a driving force behind the creation of Husky Broadcasting. Social Distancing and protecting at risk populations necessitated a way to communicate Oelwein Community School District news, policy and events. Plus, Husky Broadcasting has the capability to help teachers develop video learning to supplement in class instruction.

Husky Broadcasting/HBC is under the umbrella of Husky, Inc both of which are supported by 21st Century Grants.
