About SOSS4EREC
SOSS4EREC is a European project that strengthens organisations supporting Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) and promotes their growth.
Running from September 2026 to August 2029, the project will develop and test 34 new services across four regions: the Czech Republic, Italy, Catalonia and France, reaching nearly 160 energy communities and expanding the European One-Stop-Shop network.
Renewable Energy Communities need technical, financial, legal and organisational support to develop their projects. One-Stop Shops (OSSs) bring together this expertise and offer coordinated services tailored to their needs.
By sharing resources, knowledge and expertise, OSSs help communities overcome barriers, build capacity and develop more ambitious energy projects.
Renewable Energy Communities put citizens at the heart of the energy transition, generating environmental, social and economic benefits through shared renewable energy.
SOSS4EREC strengthens the support structures that help communities overcome barriers and turn local initiatives into lasting projects.
SOSS4EREC strengthens existing One-Stop Shops by developing and testing 34 new services with local stakeholders. These cover areas such as energy storage, district heating and cooling, building renovation, collective self-consumption and community governance.
The project also fosters knowledge exchange, mentoring and collaboration between support organisations to improve services and replicate successful approaches across Europe.
Renewable Energy Communities are expanding into areas such as energy storage, flexibility, building renovation and renewable heating and cooling, increasing the need for specialised knowledge and support.
Strengthening One-Stop Shops helps communities access this expertise while making support organisations more effective and sustainable.
SOSS4EREC aims to strengthen four pilot One-Stop-Shops and develop 34 new services to support nearly 160 Renewable Energy Communities.
The project will also replicate its approach in eight more One-Stop-Shops and contribute to a European network of 50 OSSs, boosting citizen-led initiatives across Europe.
