About Me!

Hello, I am Ms. Folts (Telfer). I am a Dual Degree Childhood Education and Special Education Major (grades 1-6). This will be my third year teaching at the Owen D. Young School District, my 4th year teaching all together. 

Prior to coming to ODY I taught in an 8:1:1 5th and 6th grade mild/severe academic/behavior skills classroom, as well as a K,1,2 (12:1:1) special education classroom. At Owen D Young, I have taught 6th grade English as well as co-taught 6th grade Math, co-taught 3rd grade Math and Writing, co-taught 2nd grade science/social studies and writing, prior to taking on 3rd grade last year! 

I love traveling, hiking, kayaking, as well as spending time with my 3 dogs (Marley, Kylo Ren, and Jack). I am very passionate about teaching- and love getting those "ah-ha" moments from my students. Growing up in Fort Plain, I have always enjoyed being a part of a small community! I look forward to watching your children grow and learn new skills, as well as have a FUN year in 3rd grade!
