About Us

The Virginia Public Schools Behavior Analyst Network (VAPSBAN), provided by Old Dominion University and the Virginia Department of Education, provides on-going support for behavior analysts who work in public schools and promotes the growth of behavior analysis in public schools. The network is a collaborative effort with the Virginia Training and Technical Assistance Centers (T/TACs), Virginia Commonwealth University Autism Center for Excellence (VCU-ACE), and Virginia's public school divisions. The network focuses on three pillars:

The Three Pillars

Information for Network Members

Behavior analyst participant support focuses on supporting behavior analysts who work in public schools through networking opportunities, providing continuing education events, and developing and disseminating resources to support the work of these professionals.

Information for School Divisions

Education and training for others focuses on providing opportunities and resources to professionals and families who are not practicing behavior analysts in public schools. This includes other school district professionals such as administrators or teachers as well as behavior analysts providing private services and families.

Outreach and growth focuses on growing not only the number of behavior analysts who work in public schools but also the knowledge and skills of those entering the field or who are interested in entering the field and working in public schools.
