CSJ-ODU invited Chief of Police of Buena Vista Police Department, Dr. Wayne Handley, and current ODU counseling student and Sergeant Brandon Mullen of Virginia Beach Police department to discuss  what collaboration and advocacy looks like between mental health and law enforcement professionals - including support for first responders and thinking of the impact on those marginally impacted by law enforcement; and how mental health professionals can apply these concepts to our work with clients/students.
