You have access to an inbox in Canvas. Messages may automatically forward to your campus email, but try the Canvas inbox; you may learn to love it. The majority of the time when a student contacts you, it is about the course they are in. You are able to keep all of their correspondence in one place (no getting lost in a mountain of emails), you can message them directly from the Gradebook, and even directly from an assignment submission. By default, all of your students’ contact information is loaded into your Canvas inbox. You do not have to pull their email addresses out of Canvas, copy and paste them into an Outlook email, and then compose your message. You can do it all in one, organized place. Have a student appealing their grade? You can easily find those critical messages again instead of having to sift through an overburdened Outlook inbox.
