This year’s PTO is making sure that all parents are aware of what we do and the importance of why we do it. You do not have to commit to anything. We will not force you to volunteer or attend meetings. It is all AT-WILL.
But as everyone knows, the more opinions and voices, the better ideas that will be brought to the table for discussion. We really like to hear from you all in regards to what the PTO should focus on and ideas on how to acquire the funds to do so. We do try our hardest to keep the meetings to an hour. We also communicate via email, Facebook (Octorara PTO), text, etc. It is an amazing opportunity to be a part of something BIG and POSITIVE.
Our PTO is made up of hard-working parents, teachers & school administrators who pool their talents to provide practical support for our school. This collaboration of effort strives to provide a sense of extended community and to support the school, teachers, parents, and each individual child.
The Octorara PTO welcomes anyone who wants to be involved and make a difference in the education, health, and welfare of our children. We recognize that our school community members have a wide range of ideas on how to support and advocate for our students and we encourage all participants. We have a couple different events coming up that we would like to have a committee for. It will not be a full-time commitment. It is a “do as you can” and “all help is appreciated” kind of commitment.
The board is here to help you be an active part of our Braves Family and also a part of your child’s education experience. Plus…we really try have fun!!!! Please keep in mind, that you do not have to be an official PTO member in order to attend PTO meetings or participate in PTO-sponsored community events.
