What is Leadership?
“Leadership is a process of social influence, which maximizes the efforts of others, towards the achievement of a goal”

Leadership
Throughout these Modules you will have an opportunity to view some videos and work on questions that accompany them. Your work on these questions should be recorded (written, audio, etc.) so when you get to the final Leadership Project you have notes or audio files to help you complete the work. When you see a video, please click on the play button and watch the complete video before moving onto the next set of questions.
“As we look ahead in the next century, leaders will be those who empower others”
Bill Gates
What It Takes To Be a Great Leader
Roselinde Torres discusses the leadership research she has conducted and the 3 questions that she thinks will determine if someone is a great leader.
“Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower”
Steve Jobs
What Have You Learned About Leadership?
Now that you have had a chance to think about the 3 questions, consider a leader you know.
It can be a leader at home, in the workplace, on a team you have played on, a committee, a group you are involved with, or leaders you see in the world around you.
Think about the three questions Ms. Torres says are a measure of a great leader. Think about her follow up questions to further delve into those topics.
On a piece of paper (or record an audio response) work through her three questions truly thinking about that leader and record your answers.
•Where is he/she looking to anticipate change?
•What is the diversity measure of her/his network”?
•Is she/he courageous enough to abandon the past?
