OES Humanities is co-taught by Andrea Gratton and Kyle Chadburn. Andrea graduated from St. Michael's College in 2011 and she has been teaching at Orleans Elementary for the past nine years. Kyle graduated from St. Michael's College in 2008 and received his Master's Degree in Education from St. Mike's in 2016. He spent the first five years of his teaching career at Brownington Central School and has been teaching at Orleans Elementary for the past five years.
Aside from teaching OES Humanities together, Kyle and Andrea are also members of the OCSU Equity Team, and they co-founded the OCSU Social Justice Library in 2019. Along with their Humanities students, they participated in the Vermont Learning Lab program sponsored by UVM and the Tarrant Institute during the 2018-2019, 2019-2020, and 2020-2021 school years. They were fortunate to be able to share some of the work done in OES Humanities at the national conference of the Association of Middle Level Education in Nashville in 2019, and they did so again at the AMLE digital conference in the fall of 2020. They were also selected, alongside OES guidance counselor Bridget McCallum, to become members of the Vermont Principal's Association's Equity Practitioners Network for the 21-22 and 22-23 school years.
