Navigating the system:
Professional Learning Communities (PLCs): OCSU has SU-wide and local building PLCs to foster professional conversations and growth. Below is a sampling of agendas from these meetings.
Proficiency/indicator documents: OCSU has graduation proficiencies and indicators established for grades K-12 in all grade-levels and content areas, as well as cross-curriculum proficiencies and indicators. As living documents, they evolve as we work more with the curriculum and explore student data.
Teacher Expectations: The OCSU Teacher Expectations were created by the PALs group, which consists of teachers from all grade-clusters K-12, with representation from all our schools except our preschool site. The goal of the expectations is to frame universal practice around proficiency-based learning.
OCSU Assessment Plan: Our assessment plan strives to provide teachers preK-12 data to improve their instructional practices and meet the needs of all learners. The document below explains the "why" behind assessment, followed by the what (kinds of assessments we use), and the how (specific assessment data collected).
