September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month: All month, mental health advocates, prevention organizations, survivors, allies, and community members unite to promote suicide prevention awareness. National Suicide Prevention Week is September 6-10, with World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10, 2020. Refer to VDOE's Suicide Prevention webpage for resources and ideas to promote awareness.

Now, more than ever, our youth need us. You can support youth by sharing hotline information to keep themselves, their family members and their friends safe. Join the Virginia Department of Social Services in spreading the word that help is available during this difficult time by sharing the following social media posts with your youth.

September is Attendance Awareness Month: This year’s theme is “Present, Engaged, and Supported!” But don’t wait until September to invest in the transition back to school in the new environment. Visit Attendance Works for ideas and resources for the 2020 Attendance Awareness Campaign.
