Students,  Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to Chemistry—the study of matter, energy and the interactions between them. Everything we see, hear, smell, taste and touch involves chemistry and chemicals.  Understanding chemistry helps us understand the world around us.  This informed learning will provide a platform for decision-making that reflects a protection and stewardship of our natural environment.

During the course, I am hoping to highlight the connection between content and current issues in our world, from cancer to conservation. Parents, please encourage your son or daughter to actively participate in class, complete all assignments thoughtfully and on time. As this is a college preparatory course, one of my main goals is to build content, critical thinking and also use chemistry as a tool to build  cognitive/ meta cognitive skills.
