To All of Our Tiger Families,
As we come to the close of another school year, I want to take a moment to sincerely thank all of our St. Elizabeth Ann Seton families.
What an incredible first year it has been! It has truly been a privilege to serve this wonderful school community, and I have enjoyed every minute of getting to know your amazing children and supportive families. From the excitement of the first day of school to the many celebrations, learning experiences, and memorable moments we've shared, this year has been one I will always cherish.
Your children have filled our hallways with kindness, laughter, curiosity, and faith. Watching them grow academically, socially, and spiritually has been a true joy. I know they each have bright futures ahead, and I look forward to seeing all of the wonderful things they will accomplish in the years to come.
Thank you for your partnership, your encouragement, and the trust you place in us each day. Together, we have built a caring school community where every child is known, valued, and loved.
As summer begins, I hope your family enjoys a season filled with rest, laughter, adventure, and time together. Stay safe, make wonderful memories, and take time to enjoy all the blessings this season has to offer.

Developing Strong Organizational Skills: A Small Habit That Makes a Big Difference
Dear Parents/Guardians,
One of the greatest gifts we can give our children is helping them develop strong organizational habits from an early age. These habits are part of a broader set of skills known as executive functioning skills—the mental processes that help children plan, organize, remember information, manage time, and take responsibility for their learning.
Research has shown that executive functioning skills are closely linked to academic success, independence, and overall well-being. Like reading or math, these skills develop over time and improve with consistent practice. Small, everyday routines help children build confidence and become more responsible learners.
At St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School, we are excited to support this growth by making student agendas available for every child from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 6.
Junior Kindergarten and Senior Kindergarten: The agenda will serve as a communication tool between home and school, allowing teachers and families to share important information and celebrate student learning.
Grades 1–6: Students will begin developing organizational routines by recording homework, important dates, and reminders in their agendas. We ask parents to review and sign the agenda each evening, and students will return it to school each day.
While completing an agenda may seem like a small task, it is an important first step in developing lifelong habits of responsibility, organization, and independence. These daily routines help students build the executive functioning skills they will rely on throughout elementary school, high school, post-secondary education, and beyond.
Thank you for partnering with us as we help our students grow not only academically, but also as responsible, organized, and confident learners. Together, we can build habits today that will support their success tomorrow.
Our agendas will be available for purchase on School Cash Online by Wednesday, August 26, 2026. Once purchased the organisation and responsibility can begin!

To ensure a smooth transition, we’d like to clarify the following points:
Existing Cards REMAIN ACTIVE: Existing student cards will continue to work for free transit until September 1st. Students do not need a new card if they already have an active OSTA student pass.
No Summer Replacements: OSTA will not be able to replace any lost cards over the summer. If a student loses their card, they will need to purchase a new PRESTO card.
Proof of Age Required: When setting up or updating a PRESTO card, students must bring a valid proof of age to have their fare type set to the "Youth" discount.
Timeline: Starting September 1, students with PRESTO cards can ride free after 5 pm weekends and holidays. Eligible students will receive new student passes from OSTA that will work any time.

Dear Families,
Riding a school bus is an important aspect of your child’s education journey. As part of this journey, Ottawa Student Transportation invites you to attend their First Rider Event held on Sunday, August 23, 2026. All are welcome!
First Rider is a great opportunity for your child(ren) to learn about being safe on their way to and from school. This integrated 45-minute session provides elementary school-age children and their families with the essential skills to navigate their commute safely. Combining hands-on bus training with interactive pedestrian practice, this comprehensive program ensures a confident start to the school year.

2026-2027 School Calendar
The proposed school year calendar that was submitted by the Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) in January has now been approved by the Ministry of Education. The first day of school is September 1, 2026. Further details are available at this link: Approved 2026-2027 School Year Calendar.

Thank you for an amazing School Year! Together we accomplished so much. Take a look at the many ways we raised funds together to put towards the new play structure. We appreciate all of the donations, creative fundraising ideas, and the many hours volunteers put into these events. We have a wonderful SEAS Community and we are thankful. Enjoy your summer!
Pollinator Meadow Summer Volunteer Opportunity
Pollinator Meadow Summer Volunteer Opportunity
We are looking for families and highschool students who may be interested in helping with our 2026 Summer Meadow Maintenance Program (Pollinator Meadow)!
This is a great opportunity for students to get involved outdoors, support local biodiversity, and contribute to an important community space over the summer break.
Program Details:
Dates: Weekly from June 28, 2026 – September 13, 2026
Commitment: One week per family/student (Sunday to Saturday), with the option to take on more than one week if available
Spots: 1 volunteer family per week
Tasks include: watering, weeding, and general maintenance such as staking and supporting plants as needed
Note: All tools, supplies, and training will be provided
