Dear Families,
We had a great first week at St. Francis of Assisi! Please join us on Wed. Sept. 10, from 4:15 - 5:15pm for our Meet the Educators, Open House. We hope to see you there! Wishing you a good weekend,
Ms. Allison Wawryn, Principal
Please remember: For safety, there is no car pick-up near the Junior exit in the small paved area. That area must stay clear for snowplows & emergency access.
Instead, we kindly ask that you use the Kiss N Ride or park a block away and walk to meet your children.
Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe for all students.
As a reminder, blue bin recycling for plastic, glass, and metal is not currently available at school. Please encourage your child to bring these items back home for proper recycling.
We also ask families to continue supporting our waste-reduction efforts by packing Boomerang or Litterless Lunches, using reusable containers, refillable water bottles, and avoiding single-use packaging whenever possible.
Thank you for helping us keep our school community environmentally friendly!
Outdoor play is an important part of every child’s day. Fresh air and active play support physical health, social skills, creativity, and overall well-being.
Outdoor Play Reminder: We go outside in all kinds of weather—even a light rain! Please send your child with a raincoat and rain boots so they can enjoy the outdoors comfortably. With the right clothing, students can enjoy the outdoors comfortably and safely in every season.
Parents are encouraged to check their children for head lice regularly.
The Ottawa Public Health Fact Sheet on head lice is offered as a resource to both parents and staff.
