Please note all Gr 6 students received an email from either Mrs. Dean or Mrs. Milosek on Monday. We also shared that email with the parent email addresses we have on file. Parents if you didn't receive it, please check your 'other' folder in case it didn't go to your inbox.

• Ontario has launched an online learning program for students at home. The online learning program includes an e-learning website and a television channel (TVO). https://www.ontario.ca/page/learn-at-home
• Mathletics: All Gr 6 student Mathletic accounts have been updated. I have assigned many new questions. At this point the only questions assigned pertain to what they've learned at school. I have not at this point assigned questions for things we haven't learned. Please login to your OCSB student account and click on the Mathletic Icon to access properly.
• Awesome Math Worksheets: https://www.math-drills.com/ On this site students can practice many important math skills from all math strands. Allow students to chose to review activities on this site that they have learned. This allows the kids to feel confidence. Recommendations: I recommend students practice their addition, subtraction and multiplication facts. Keeping number sense active is the best thing for your child during this time. It is very important for them to multiply. I recommend working on multiplication facts up to 12 x 12. I also recommend the practice of multiplying two digit numbers by two digit numbers (ex. 23 x 14 =). Students would've learned to do this in Gr. 5. Another great skill to practice.
• Math Makes Sense Ontario Edition - Pearson Canada is offering a 60 Day free trial of resources. Click on the link to register for a copy. You have to create an account and you receive a e copy of the text to use at home. Click on the link that reads Open access to eText of trusted Pearson text books on Texidium (Kivuto). It was easy to navigate and set up. Unfortunately, it is not a link that can be posted here for you to view. Each user needs their own account to access. There are many pdf copies of Math Makes Sense searchable online, however they are the Western Provinces Edition. Still a great resource just organized differently and has some content not applicable to Ontario Curriculum.
