Resource Support

St. Pius X High School's Resource Department supports students of varying academic needs through the implementation of an Individual Education Plan (IEP). The department follows the board’s inclusion model in which students follow a regular schedule and are accommodated within the classroom. The students are connected to a resource teacher who will support their needs in the following ways:

• Develop the IEP in consultation with parents, teachers, students on an ongoing basis

• Assist teachers with any accommodations or modifications to curriculum

• Support student learning in the classroom and individually when required

• Order any special equipment needed for students with supporting documentation

• Assist students and parents in course selection, pathway planning and transitioning to post-secondary

Our department focuses on ongoing communication with parents and staff to help students succeed and reach their full potential.
