Critical Thinking and Metacognition - HZT 4U

In grade 12, students are given the option of taking the Philosophy: Questions and Theories course. This university preparation course is an invaluable opportunity for students to develop the skills needed to succeed not just in university but in any pathway they choose. The course seeks to develop critical thinking skills, logical reasoning, the ability to analyze and solve problems, the ability to assess and form their own viewpoints, and finally, the ability to write and speak clearly. The course also promotes metacognition which can promote self-learning, goal-setting and a deeper understanding of one’s self and beliefs.
