This course introduces students to the principles of marketing within the sports and entertainment industry. Students will examine the economic significance and profitability of the sports and entertainment industries with particular emphasis on the elements of the marketing mix, branding, licensing, sponsorship, facilities and location, event planning and career opportunities. As part of this course, students will gain first-hand experience in organizing and planning a sporting or entertainment event.Â
