My name is Richmond Guillermo and I am the new chaplaincy leader at St. Patrick’s High School. Since beginning my work here, I have enjoyed meeting a number of students and staff. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself. I was born in the Philippines and I came to Canada when I was three years old. I lived in Saint John, New Brunswick for over 20 years. When I was 16 years old I had become Agnostic and I stopped going to Sunday Mass. It was not until I experienced God’s love (through a physical healing from peoples’ prayers) in my early 20’s that I started to practice my faith. I felt a possible call to the priesthood and entered the seminary in Ottawa in 1998. After being in the seminary for 4 years, I discerned my call to the married life. Upon leaving the seminary, I began working as an LTO chaplain at St. Matthew’s in Orleans and Holy Trinity in Kanata. I was very blessed to receive a permanent position at Sacred Heart in Stittsville (7 years) and St. Pius X in Nepean (9 years). I look forward to my journey here with all of you in the St. Pat’s community! Take good care and God bless you all!
