7/8 Vocal Ensemble
Final Music Concert is Wednesday, May 29th at 6:30pm Please make sure to bring in your pizza money to Mme by Monday! On the day of the concert, Vocals will be practicing from 2:30-3:20pm (band will be from 3:20-4pm) We will be joining the bands (7/8 and HS) at 4pm to run through Viva La Vida together.
** We are going to be singing with the show choir for the presentation during the day on Wednesday (showcase) AND for the concert. You will need your striped shirt and jeans as well as your concert attire for the day!!
On Wednesday, period 1 you will come down to the music room and we will practice our show choir part and get ready for the show. Please come to period 1 dressed in your striped shirt. You will be participating in the first show only (not the afternoon HS show).
** DON'T FORGET WE ARE MEETING ON TUESDAY AT LUNCH TO REHEARSE AND SHOW CHOIR IS PRACTICING THAT DAY AFTER SCHOOL AS WELL. PLEASE COME AFTER SCHOOL IF YOU CAN MAKE IT!

April 8th. Basketball Game cancelled today due to snow day! The game has been rescheduled to 10:30am this Friday. You are to come straight down to the music room after period 2 is over to meet and regroup. Mme Lanthier will be leading you in the O Canada in the gym. Please come see me at lunch this week if you have any questions!
Music Monday Survey!
Since we are getting funding from the Coalition of Music Education to participate in the Music Monday Event, we are being asked to fill in a few surveys and feedback forms prior and following the event.
Here is the link that every student participating is asked to fill in! Please complete it this week! We will do this together this week (March 27th) at practice.
GOOD NEWS!!! We have our Kiwanis date. Mark your calendars! We will be participating at the Kiwanis Music Festival on Thursday, April 4th at 11:30am at Orleans United Church. Students will be transported by yellow bus and miss a portion of their school day. They will be returning back to school in time for the end of the school day. Stayed tuned for further info. We will be again participating in the Music Monday celebration at the NAC more information to follow as well for this field trip! We will be singing three songs: 1) Oscar Peterson's Hymn to Freedom, Lift Our Voices and Vivre, Aimer, Partager. You will be getting recordings and links very shortly. Friends and Family Show Choir concert is Thursday, March 7th at 7pm. You must be at school at 6pm for a quick warm up. Concert attire will be the following:
- jeans, colourful striped top (preferred) or just colourful
- tennis shoes (bright colours if possible) or the best you can do.
- You will also need to be there for the dress rehearsal the Tuesday before (Tues. March 5th). The rehearsal runs from 2:35-4:30pm. We will be running through the whole show repeatedly and taking care of sound check. Bring work to do!
Next week the composer of the song Mia will be coming to work with us during rehearsal do not miss it.
