Take a few minutes using the paper and pencil provided to brainstorm possible responses. Consider both sides of the argument. Develop clear examples. Do not commit to one side or another yet - just let the ideas flow. Your best answer might not be what you personally believe - that’s okay! Choose the opinion that you have the best ideas for.
For the opinion response, you must choose ONE clear opinion and ensure that your supporting reasons and examples support only that opinion. You can’t sit on the fence!
Your answer should consist of a clear introduction paragraph, 2-3 body paragraphs (one for each of your supporting reasons), and a conclusion paragraph.
Each body paragraph should center around one or two supporting examples for that reason. Make sure that your examples are SPECIFIC. You must use your own personal experiences and prior knowledge of the topic to create the “proof” or “evidence” in each body paragraph.
Make sure your reasons are not too similar. For example, “being active” and “staying healthy” are not completely different from one another, and may be marked as just one supporting reason. It is important to brainstorm and consider which specific example you will use for each before you start writing, to make sure that you are not repeating yourself.
