Welcome to Grade 6!

Welcome back to the new school year! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as your child’s English classroom teacher. I will be teaching Grade 6 Language Arts, Math and Religion. This year will be an exciting one filled with opportunities for our Grade 6’s to develop their leadership skills, demonstrate responsibility, and further explore their role as global citizens. I can’t wait to see what they do this year! I am very pleased to be given the opportunity to be a part of your child’s education and to provide a dynamic and respectful learning environment for all the children. You are your child’s first teacher, and together we will work towards your child’s enjoyment of a successful school year! Our Program Curriculum Night will be held Thursday September 14th at 6:30pm. I look forward to meeting you then!

Sincerely,

Heather Fyfe

A Few Things...

• All students are required to have indoor shoes (non-marking soles please!).

• As we have several students with severe allergies, please ensure all snacks and lunches are nut free.

• All students are asked to bring in their own personal headphones for use with the chromebooks.

• We are a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) school, and students are encouraged to bring devices to enhance their learning. We will discuss as a class what is appropriate and acceptable use of this technology in the classroom.

• Classroom supplies are provided, though your child may wish to have their own pencil case and personal items.

• Kleenex and hand sanitizer for the classroom are always GREATLY appreciated 􀀀

What's Up With Homework?

What’s up with Homework? READ READ READ!!! There will be no formal homework program this year. Occasionally incomplete classroom work or special assignments will be given, but is our hope that your child will take this time to foster their love of reading (fiction, non-fiction, graphic text, comics, magazines… they all count !)
