St. John the Apostle
St. John was the apostle permitted to lean his head on the chest of Jesus. The dying Jesus gave the care of his Blessed Mother Mary to this beloved friend. So the rest of her life on earth, the Blessed Mother lived with St. John. He became the "beloved disciple" and he was the only one of the Twelve who did not forsake the Savior in the hour of His Passion. "My dear children, love one another," was admonition that St. John gave to all Christians.

In the first year of our Spiritual Theme, the focus was on seeking justice. This year, in the second year of our three year plan, the focus is on loving kindness and mercy. The relationship between justice and kindness and mercy is intertwined. We will explore this relationship through Scripture, Prayer, and other activities, connected to our Strategic Commitments.
Kindness and mercy reflect God's love. It is very important and kind to affirm one another. Kindness is reflected by good and charitable behaviour, tenderness and concern for others. We see kindness and mercy in the desire to help someone in need without expecting anything in return.
