RBES Garden Spaces
Rocky Branch Elementary School offers a variety of settings where STEAM learning regularly occurs.
Butterfly Garden
A Butterfly Garden was planted to enrich environmental instruction and learning. Students learn about a habitat necessary to support butterflies through the various stages of their life cycle.
Compost
Students learn to compost to protect our environment and create nutrient rich soil for our gardens.
Kindergarten Raised Beds & Weather Station
Our kindergartners learn to contribute to our community as they learn about how a garden grows.
MakerSpace
The MakerSpace is part of our Media Center. Students use the MakerSpace as a creative outlet or an opportunity for hands-on, creative ways to design, experiment, create, and/or build.
Outdoor Learning Garden
In the outdoor learning space, students engage in hands-on learning while connecting with nature.
Pollinator Garden
Students partnered with a local master gardener to learn about supporting and protecting pollinators. This area is currently under construction to support our local pollinator population.
Reading Garden
A garden was developed for students to enjoy as they expand learning beyond the walls of the school.
Waystation
Our Monarch Waystation helps us contribute to monarch conservation efforts. This area is a resting spot and provides resources as monarchs make their migration each year.
