An award of $1,000 will be given to two graduating seniors at Oconee High School and two graduating seniors at North Oconee High School. Each winner must provide evidence of acceptance to an institution of post-secondary education to receive the scholarship. An application form will be available in the high school counseling office in early January, and the announcement of the winners will be made at the Honors Day ceremony in late spring.

This award will include public recognition and a scholarship for post secondary education. The award is not intended to necessarily benefit students with “high” grade point averages of college entrance exam scores. Consideration also will be given to need, recommendations, personal achievements, and a statement of the applicant's personal goals and aspirations, but special weight will be given to community service accomplishments. Applicants are encouraged to describe the depth of involvement for their major service activities.
