Meet the Teacher

Hello!

My name is Susan Howard and I am excited to introduce myself as a 2nd grade teacher at Oconee County Primary School! I have been happily married to the handsome Mr. Howard for four years. We currently live in Athens where we enjoy cooking, gardening, spending time outdoors, and making each other laugh!

This will be my 8th year teaching and my 4th year at OCPS. I am excited to use what I have learned over the course of my career to make this the best school year yet!

Childhood

I was born in Fort Benning, Georgia on December 27, 1986. I have a fraternal twin named Sarah. As Army brats, our childhood really was an adventure! We attended many different elementary schools and were always thankful to have each other each time we walked into a new classroom. Moving as often as we did inspired me to do my best in creating a classroom that feels like a second home for children where they are nurtured, both academically and emotionally.

My Education

I obtained my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education from Georgia College and State University and my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College. I have an endorsement in Gifted Education and I am International Baccalaureate certified. Educating children is a passion I have always had and I am thrilled to bring engaging learning experiences to our 2nd grade Little Chiefs this school year! I am looking forward to working with each of you to make your child’s last year at OCPS both memorable and successful.
