Goal #1: Culture of Connection and Belonging
Systematically evaluate current opportunities for students, families, staff, and community members to actively participate in students’ educational experiences.
Develop and implement a districtwide communication framework that ensures all families receive timely, accessible, and translated communication, along with opportunities for two-way engagement.
Establish a feedback cycle (students, staff, families, and community) using surveys and/or focus groups, with a clear process for sharing results and communicating back the specific actions taken in response.
Analyze feedback to create a culture of belonging by valuing voices, promoting collaboration, supporting leadership, engaging our community, and recognizing successes.
Goal #2: Culture of Academic Excellence
District staff uses Professional Learning Communities to examine student transitions (Grades 2–3, 5–6, 8–9, and Grade 12 and beyond), establish common benchmarks, and align academic and behavioral supports within the MTSS framework.
Professional development will build capacity to deliver rigorous, equitable, and engaging instruction in every classroom, supported by ongoing, job-embedded learning opportunities that deepen content knowledge, refine instructional practice, and use data to ensure every student masters grade-level standards.
Cultivate a culture that celebrates learning, recognizes achievement, and builds strong partnerships with families and community organizations to support every student's academic journey.
Goal #3: Culture of Opportunity
Build a shared understanding of Portrait of a Graduate among all stakeholder groups.
Develop a 3-year plan for Portrait of a Graduate implementation K-12.
Goal #4: Culture of Growth and Support
Develop a professional learning calendar informed by student achievement data, teacher feedback, and the strategic plan, ensuring learning opportunities directly support tiered instructional practices and student success.
Strengthening family and community relationships while intentionally recognizing and celebrating success creates a positive school culture and reinforces a shared commitment to student achievement.
Develop and implement a school-wide Portrait of a Graduate framework that is embedded into classroom instruction, advisory activities, student goal setting, and recognition programs.
