Expressive writing is an evidence-based wellness practice that helps healthcare professionals across specializations to efficiently process the traumas and adversities they experience while caring for others. Other benefits include improved cognition, better job satisfaction, increased positive emotions, and improved physical health. Participants will learn the theoretical foundations of expressive writing and take pen in hand to practice the major writing protocols. Because we are only as resilient as those around us, the workshop includes information on teaching expressive writing techniques to colleagues.

How can we use community organizations as partners to develop educational/informative programming? In this session, participants will gain insight into the process of Red House Arts Center’s collaboration with Onondaga County in developing preventative programming for youth with hands-on assistance in planning for potential partnerships for their own organizations/programs. Participants will learn about the process of bringing ‘Levi’s Relic’ from idea to reality and from page to stage, have an opportunity to identify arts and cultural organizations in their surrounding communities, and begin brainstorming (with the assistance of presenters) on partnership ideas they could launch in the future.
A Supplemental Educational Workbook developed for children to reinforce themes of 'Levi's Relic' will be provided.
**Additional Speakers: Ben Borenstein (Music and Lyrics), Nahahme Howard (Writer and Director), Bree Links (Project Manager)
