Why create this resource?

There are a plethora of resources on this topic but they are not tailored for our region nor are they in one place. There are padlets, wakelets, websites, videos, tiktoks, and so much more that it can become overwhelming. I was thoughtful in of needs in our region, curated and organized landing pages for all resources was important for librarians and all educators.

There have been a lot of resources collected for library books but I chose to also include information on classroom novel challenges as this has increasingly been a problem. Although, parents do have the right to decide that is appropriate for their own children they do not have the right to make that choice for all students. All classroom titles are evaluated by the Board of Education before becoming part of the curriculum. Library books are evaluated by the school librarian and approved for purchase by an administrator in most cases.
