Q: Why should I join FCCLA?
A: FCCLA is a club that provides opportunities for growth, leadership and professional development, networking, as well as helping you find a career you could thrive in. It is also a great opportunity to meet new people and become more involved in Oak Creek High School and our community. We will take the skills taught in the variety of FCS courses and give you the opportunity to apply them to real life settings in a fun and competitive way.
Q: What is FCCLA?
A: A dynamic and effective national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work, and societal issues through FCS education. FCCLA has 160,000 members and more than 5,400 chapters from 47 state associations, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. The organization has involved more than 10 million youth since its founding in 1945.
Q: How do I get involved in the FCCLA Club at Oak Creek High School?
A: Contact Advisor, Ms. Kinkade, at m.kinkade@ocfsd.org, President, Corinne Howard, at corihowa23@student.ocfsd.org or come find Ms. Kinkade before/after school at the NGC room 406A on the second floor by the top of the main staircase. There will be posters around the school as well as announcements on when our meetings will be held! You will also be able to visit our Instagram page, and our handle is @ocfsd_fccla . We are working on updating it this year!
Q: Are there any fees to join FCCLA?
A: We are currently working on that.
Q: When are the meetings for FCCLA?
A: Meetings are about every other Tuesday of each month (usually the second and fourth Tuesday of every month). Exact time and location will be located on this site, Google Classroom, and the OCHS Daily Announcements. Add this to your calendars so you don't forget about any meetings, parties, or opportunities coming up!
Q: What are the requirements to join FCCLA?
A: It is preferred to currently be in or have taken an FCS class at Oak Creek High School in order to join the club.
Q: What is a chapter officer? How do I become one?
A: Chapter officers are individuals selected by the advisor or president that will assist in leading the FCCLA chapter. They will organize and carry out events at the local level. It is a great opportunity to develop leadership skills and become more involved in an organization at Oak Creek High School.
Q: Does FCCLA offer any scholarships?
