ePortfolio Overview

Hello! My name is Ashley Dasnoit, and I am currently working towards receiving a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction at CSU Channel Islands. This ePortfolio is my culminating project for two of my classes this semester:

1) Advanced Classroom Management

2) Advanced Teaching with Technology

As you look through the pages of my website you will find my philosophy on classroom management, classroom policies and procedures, how I became a connected educator, and how I use technology to transform learning. My classroom management class has introduced me to many different theories and management ideas that can be implemented in the classroom. I will be sharing some of my personal classroom management strategies with you through the pages of this website. My technology class opened up my eyes to the world of educational technology, and professional learning networks. My online technology class presented me with two challenges during the course of the semester:

These challenges are further explained on the Becoming Connected and Transforming Learning pages of this ePortfolio. By successfully completing these challenges, I demonstrated mastery of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards listed below:

1. Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity.
2. Design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments.
3. Model digital age work and learning.
4. Promote and model digital citizenship and responsibility.
5. Engage in professional growth and leadership.

According to the ISTE, these standards, "define the new skills and pedagogical insights educators need to teach, work and learn in the digital age." In our digital age, these standards are incredibly important for teachers to keep in mind as they are lesson planning and teaching our future leaders.
